Food Bank Ministry: Serving Our Community Together

At St. John's, we believe in caring for our neighbors and sharing God’s love in practical ways. Our Food Bank Ministry is one way we do that—by helping to meet the needs of those facing food insecurity right here in our community.
We invite you to join us in making a difference. Here’s how you can get involved:
Give Financially
Your donations help keep local food banks stocked with much-needed essentials. To give, simply use the donation envelopes available during Sunday services and mark them “Food Bank.” Every gift, big or small, helps feed a family.
Volunteer with Us
Looking for a hands-on way to help? Come lend a hand at our group volunteer nights at the 415 Food Hub. We help sort and shelve food donations on select Tuesdays from 5:00–8:00 PM.
Upcoming volunteer dates:
Tuesday, September 23, 2025
Tuesday, November 18, 2025
To sign up or learn more, contact Aileen at aileen@sjactoronto.com.
Donate Food
We also host food drives throughout the year, collecting items like:
Canned goods
Dry pasta and rice
Breakfast cereals
Other non-perishable, shelf-stable items
Watch for collection dates in the church bulletin or on our events page.
We’ve been blessed to support local organizations like North York Harvest, The Common Table and the 415 Food Hub, and it’s all thanks to the generosity of people like you.
Thank you for being part of this mission. Together, we are sharing hope, one meal at a time.
