St. John’s Gardening Group

St. John’s Gardening Group is made up of passionate, amateur green thumbs from across our community who share a love of all things that grow. Formed in 2021, this group is on a mission to glorify God by:

  • Stewarding Creation: Providing a pollinator habitat for bees, butterflies, birds and other creatures

  • Building Community: Fostering new connections within our church, our neighbourhood and beyond

  • Learning and Sharing: Creating opportunities to learn and share ways that we can care for God's creations

Gardening experience is not needed to join this group! Learn more by contacting Rev. Andrew Johnson.

 St. John’s Pollinator Garden Project

In 2021, the group began transforming a portion of the church’s back field property into a large pollinator habitat. In 2023, this garden project received funding support from Toronto’s PollinateTO grant program, making it the first city-funded pollinator garden in our ward of Newtonbrook East.

Horticulture Talks and Events
